Adaptation Food Project

The Increased Resilience to climate change in Northern Ghana through the Management of Water Resources and Diversification of livelihoods Project targeted three (3) regions of Northern Ghana namely the Upper East, Upper West, and Northern Region.

The project was designed to support the Government of Ghana kick-start the implementation of 3 – core National priorities for climate change adaptation as outlined in the National Climate Change Adaptation Strategy (NCCAS) of 2011. Under the project, SavaNet implemented Bee Keeping livelihood diversification activities in Bawku West and Bawku Municipality in a total of 11 communities vulnerable to climate change.

The implementation of the project benefited more than 7,000 smallholder farmers and small Agribusinesses. The project was implemented in partnership with UNDP, the World Bank, and the Ministry of Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation (MESTI) of Ghana.
